The Air Force Meritorious Civilian Service Award is awarded to Air Force civilian employees in recognition of a year or more of exemplary service. Qualifying service includes the exemplary performance of assigned duties, achievements, an initiative in developing new work methods and procedures, improving workplace safety and health, and increasing the morale of other employees. The Medal may also be presented to personnel upon retirement.
