The Department of State Meritorious Honor Award was established by the United States Department of State. The Bronze Medal was awarded to members of the Foreign Service, Civil Service, or the United States Military for special acts, sustained service, or outstanding performance. Qualifying service may include the support of a one-time event, innovative contributions to the accomplishment of short-term tasks, and other achievements which result in an increase in productivity and efficiency. Since 2007, the award is no longer issued with the Medal.
