French-made in silver gilt with light blue, dark blue and white enamels, two embedded red jade stones, a large one in the centre and a smaller one above, French-made, on full-length neck ribbon with interlocking clasp, intact enamels, light contact, better than extremely fine. Accompanied by its 12 mm Rosette, mounted to a metal button hole attachment maker marked "D F PARIS".
This Order was instituted by Emperor Kuangsi in recognition of exceptional service to the throne and the Qing court. Originally, it was only awarded to foreigners, but in 1908 it was expanded to include Chinese citizens as well.
The II Class, I Grade was conferred upon II rank Diplomatic Envoys.
The Republic of China replaced the Imperial Orders following its establishment in 1912.
