Physical Description and Item Details


In silver gilt with white, green and violet enamels, red glass cabochon on both sides, a 5-7-5 configuration in the Paulonia flowers designating it as IV class, with enamel wear and minor loss, on original ribbon, very fine.

History


This Order is conferred by the Japanese Government in recognition of long meritorious service, or for outstanding civil or military merit. It is awarded exclusively to males, Japanese citizens and foreigners, and it is rarely awarded to anyone below the rank of Admiral.

The IV Class Badge has 5, 7, 5 flowers on top.

The reverse features Japanese characters.
