A silver eight-point star with faceted rays, with a red enamel Maltese cross superimposed on the rays, the central medallion featuring a Korean helmet on a blue enamel background, the reverse features a single pin and ball catch assembly, with Korean text and the impressed number “3388” in the central medallion encircled by blue enamel rings, measures 59mm (w) x 59mm (h), enamels intact, dark patina, overall very fine condition.
This Order is South Korea's highest military honour. It is conferred upon South Korean and Allied military personnel in recognition of gallantry and exceptional meritorious service during combat or national emergencies.
This Order was amended in 1963, 1967, and in 1973.
