History


Known in Malay as "Seri Paduka Mahkota Johor", this Order was instituted by Sultan Abu Bakar. It is awarded for loyalty, diligence, and meticulous service amongst military personnel, civil servants and benefactors of the state, both Malaysian and foreign. The motto of the order Kapada Allah Berserah, meaning Unto God Resigned.

The I Class is the Grand Commander ("Dato Sri Paduka") is restricted to 16 individuals. The II Class Commander ("Dato Paduka") is restricted to 24 individuals. The Companion ("Stia") is restricted to 32 individuals.

Until 1960, J.W Benson Ltd. of London manufactured all Johore's insignia.

The Knight Commander Breast Star bears the same design as the Grand Commander Breast Star but is slightly smaller It is a silver star with five flame like rays and crescents and stars between the rays (in silver instead of gold). The center medallion is encircled by a blue garter bearing the motto of the order and consists of a white field with a crown, the name of the Prophet and the crescent and star in the center.
