History

Known in Malay as "Darjah Kerabat Johor Yang Amat Dihormati", this order was instituted by Sultan Abu Bakar on July 31, 1886. This Order is only awarded to members of the royal family and is therefore quite rare. It is conferred in two classes.

The Grand Commander Breast Star is a silver and silver gilt nine-pointed multi-rayed star. The centre medallion bears a red enamelled garter bearing the motto of the Order and encircling a white field on which is a gold crescent, crossed sword and kris and a crown. The name of Allah is inscribed on the crescent of Jawi.
