History

Known in Malay as "Darjah Kerabat Johor Yang Amat Dihormati", this order was instituted by Sultan Abu Bakar on July 31, 1886. This order is only awarded to members of the royal family and is therefore quite rare. It is conferred in two classes.

The collar is composed of gilt and enamel. The links alternate between the cypher of Sultan Abu Bakar and crossed swords with ribbons and crowns. The clasp at the back depicts four clasped hands encircled by a gold wreath. The front device is an ornate design consisting of a sheild bearing the crest and star with the State flag on one side and the Sultan's Standard on the other. This whole piece is surmounted by a crown and underneath is a scroll with the motto of the order "Muwafakat Itu Berkat" meaning "Concord is a Blessing" in Jawi.
