History

This medal, also known as "Pingat Keberanian Handal" was established in 1951. It is awarded for conspicuous acts of gallantry in the state of Perlis.

This is a silver medal with a pair of crossed kris on the obverse, the word "PERLIS" in Jawi script below and the whole surrounded by padi ears. The reverse bears a surround of laurel leaves with, centrally, the name of the medal in Jawi and name of the recipient.

It is worn on a royal blue ribbon with a wide yellow stripe down the center. Bars, in the form of silver bars with an embossed ear of padi, may be awarded for subsequent acts of gallantry.
