History

The Order of the Most Esteemed Royal Family Order of Selangor, also known as "Darjah Kerabat Selangor Yang Amat Di-Hormati" was created on June 6, 1961 by Sultan Salahuddin Abdul Aziz Shah ibni Almarhum Hishamuddin Shah. This order is usually reserved for Malayan Royalty and a small number of high Officers of the State. It is also conferred upon foreign Royalty.

The insignia consists of a collar, badge and breast star.

The sash badge is comprised of silver gilt and is a five-point faceted star, 3 inches in diameter with the State Crown and Crest depicted within the Centre on a red enamelled field. This center is surrounded by a raised wreath of palm leaves.
