Physical Description

A Bath cross with outward facing planes in the quadrants, the obverse center bears a five-pointed star on a dark blue enamel medallion, the reverse is plain with the inscription VIET.NAM within a border inscribed with PHI-DUNG BOI-TINH, with a winged suspension on a blue and grey striped ribbon with a ribbon decoration of a five-pointed star with wings

History

This cross was conferred upon military personnel in recognition of courage during aerial combat. In special cases, it was awarded to foreign military personnel when their actions directly benefited Vietnam.

This cross was awarded in 4 degrees, which were represented by ribbon decorations:

1) Gold Wing
2) Silver Wing
3) Bronze Wing
4) No Wing

This medal was locally manufactured.
