A Vietnamese Air Gallantry Cross; Silver Wing - Silvered and bronze gilt with black and navy blue enamels, 41.2 mm x 53.8 mm inclusive of its wings suspension, silvered wings device on the original ribbon with dual prong pinback, along with silvered wings on the medal designating it as Silver Wing, contact marks and gilt wear, very fine. Footnote: Awarded for display of heroism and exceptional bravery in flight or in extremely dangerous situations, to RVN Air Force personnel, civilian flying personnel serving in the Air Force and Allied flying personnel. The Silver Wing were for those cited at the Tactical Wing level.
This cross was conferred upon military personnel in recognition of courage during aerial combat. In special cases, it was awarded to foreign military personnel when their actions directly benefited Vietnam.
