The Collar was instituted by Ahmed Ben Zogu in his capacity as President of Albania.
Ahmed Ben Zogu later became King Zog I of Albania, and he ruled from 1928–1939.
This Collar was only conferred upon foreign Heads of State or the King of Albania, and it was discontinued in 1945.
Recipients of this Order include King Albert I of Belgium and King Farouk of Egypt.
