History

This Title was conferred upon Bulgarian mothers in recognition of bearing and raising a minimum of 10 children.

Recipients of this Title were also awarded the I Class award from the Order of Maternal Glory.

It was originally named the Hero of Maternal Glory, but it was renamed the Title of the Mother Heroine on June 9, 1952.

Early version of the star are composed of pure 14 karat Gold, while later versions of the star are composed of Gilt materials.

The star was conferred upon 1116 recipients before it was discontinued in 1990.

The obverse inscription translates to "Mother Heroine."
