Czechoslovakia, Republic. An Order of Charles IV, II Class Decoration, c.1950

(Diplomový odznak Krále Karla IV). Instituted in 1945. Three-piece construction, in silvered and gilt bronze with red and white enamels, measuring 48.3 mm (w) x 66 mm (h) inclusive of its crossed swords and wreath suspension, intact enamels, scattered gilt wear on the head of Charles IV, scattered silvering wear and contact marks on the reverse, original ribbon with hook and eye, near extremely fine.

History


This Order was conferred upon members of the Czech National Guard in recognition of long service and merit.

The Order grades were awarded in two divisions, the Military Division and the Civil Division.

The Military Division awards feature crossed swords in the surmounting ring suspension, while the Civil Division awards do not feature crossed swords in the surmounting ring suspension.
