History


The Order of Prison Officer Merit was established by a regulation from the Ministry of Justice on January 17, 2007. It is awarded by decision of a committee to Estonian prison officers in recognition of long and meritorious service. It may also be awarded posthumously, but only under exceptional circumstances.
