History

The Cross of the Bavarian Volunteer Corps was created by Royal Decree on May 26, 1837. It was awarded to members of the Bavarian Volunteer Corps, who since 1833, had steadily grown to outnumber the original members of the Bavarian Auxiliary Corps.

The Bronze Cross features an obverse inscription that translates to "Othon King of the Hellenes," and a reverse inscription that translates to "To the Bavarian Volunteers."

See also the Cross of the Bavarian Auxiliary Corps (GRC123) in the Medals & Decorations of Greece for the cross that was awarded to the Bavarian Auxiliary Corps.
