History


The medal was founded to commemorate the 80th anniversary of the Latvian Army, and it was awarded to recognize merit within the developments of the National Armed Forces, as well as for exemplary service.

The reverse inscription translates to "For Contribution to Armed Forces Developement Minister of Defence Award".
