History

The Order of the Swastika was established by the Lithuanian Scouting Organization in 1925, but it was permanently suppressed in 1940. From 1925-1928 this decoration was called the "Order of the White Swastika," and from 1928-1940 it was called the "Order of the Swastika."

It was awarded to Lithuanian scouts for meritorious service, and to Lithuanian citizens in recognition of support of the Lithuanian scouting movement. From 1928-1940, the Order was also awarded to foreigners for supporting the scouting movement in Lithuania.

Approximately 6 Decorations were awarded from 1925-1928, and approximately 127 were awarded from 1928-1940.
