History

The Divisions of the Lithuanian Armed Forces Medal for Distinguished Service is awarded to Lithuanian military personnel, active reserve soldiers, civilians, and foreigners for excellent command and performance in operations, life-saving rescues in combat or training, and other meritorious actions performed under extreme conditions.

If this Medal is awarded more than once to the same recipient, a bronze, silvered, or gilt Gediminas columns clasp is worn on the ribbon.

The Medal is awarded to land force personnel on a green ribbon, to air force personnel on a blue ribbon, to naval personnel on a black ribbon, and to volunteers on a red ribbon.
