History


The National Defence System of the Republic of Lithuania Medal for Meritorious Civilian Service is awarded to civilians for 10 years of distinguished service and meritorious contributions to the National Defence System. It may also be awarded to foreign civilians for exceptional contributions to the National Defence System.

If the recipient is awarded the Medal a second, third, or fourth time, a bronze, silvered, or gilt oak leaf clasp is worn on the ribbon.

The Silver Medal features an obverse inscription that translates to "Freedom, Honour, Homeland."
