The Decoration for Meritorious Agricultural Workers was established by the Council of Ministers in 1970. It was awarded by the Minister of Agriculture to farmers, employees of agricultural collectives, employees in agricultural administrations, or activists for long and meritorious service. It was discontinued following the collapse of the communist regime in 1989, but a similar award was established by the Republic of Poland in 1996.
The Gold Decoration features an obverse inscription translates to "Meritorious Agricultural Worker."
