History

The Decoration for the Builder of the Katowice Steelworks was established by the Council of Ministers in 1975 to commemorate the opening of the Katowice Steelworks. It was awarded to all those who participated in the construction of the Steelworks, including foreign specialists who worked on the project. It was discontinued following the collapse of the communist regime in 1989.

The Silver Decoration features an obverse inscription that can be translated to "Builder of the Katowice Steelworks," and a reverse inscription that can be translated to "Conferred by the Minister of Construction and Building Materials."
