History

The Decoration for Border Guards was established by the Minister of Internal Affairs and Administration in 1997. It is awarded to members of the Polish Border Guard in recognition of long and meritorious service and acts of courage and bravery performed while on duty.

The Silver Decoration features initials on the obverse that stand for "Straż Graniczna" (Border Guard).
