History

The Decoration for Merit in Construction was established by the Republic of Poland in 1999 as a replacement for the Decoration for Merit to the Construction and Building Materials Industry that was awarded in the Polish People's Republic. It is currently awarded by the Minister of Infrastructure and Construction to Polish citizens and foreigners in recognition of merit to housing development in Poland.

The Gold Decoration features an obverse inscription that can be translated to "For Merit to Construction."
