History


The Decoration for Merit to Forestry was established by the Council of Ministers in 1997 as a replacement for the Decoration for Merit to the Forestry and Wood Industry that was awarded in the Polish People's Republic. It is awarded by the Minister of the Environment, Natural Resources, and Forestry to Polish citizens and organisations in recognition of meritorious service to Polish forestry. It may also be awarded to foreigners or foreign organisations for their service in Poland.

The Silver Decoration features an obverse inscription that can be translated to "Merit for Forestry."
