History


The Medal for 25 Years of Military Service was established by Prince Carol I in 1872. It was awarded to Officers of the Romanian Armed Forces for 25 years of meritorious service, but it was permanently discontinued following the abolition of the Romanian monarchy in 1947.

There are two Types of the Medal that differ in design. Tzpe I is oval shaped, and Type II is in the form of a cross. The second version is identical to the Cross for Public Service, and the two differ only by ribbon.
