The Medal of Liberation from the Fascist Yoke was awarded to Romanian civilians and military personnel for participation in the struggle against fascism, including service on the Western Front in the Second World War. It was permanently discontinued after the collapse of the Socialist Republic in 1989.
There are two versions of the Bronze Medal. The first features the initials of the Romanian People's Republic, while the second features the initials of the Romanian Socialist Republic. Both versions have an obverse inscription that translates to "Liberation from the Fascist Yoke," and a reverse inscription that translates to "In the Service of the Working People."
