These crosses were issued to as unofficial commemorate the major military corps, battalions, and divisions that rendered service East Africa, the Spanish Civil War, and the Albania Campaign.
Thus while the main form of the cross is generally the same, the colour of the enamel, shape of the eagle, inscriptions, and composition vary widely.
