The Medal for Olhao (Medalha da Restauração de Olhão) was created by Prince João VI in 1808 as soon as he and his court arrived in Brazil after the Napoleonic invasion of Portugal. The Medal was founded to commemorate the restoration in Brazil of the new Empire of Portugal.

The Medal was awarded with one grade, Silver Medal, and it was awarded to the crew who accompanied Prince João to Rio de Janeiro.

The Medal features plain reverse.
