The Medal for the Wounded in Campaigns (Medalha dos Feridos em Campanha) was originally established as an insignia on October 5 1918, but it was promote to Medal on May 28, 1946.

It is awarded to those who have suffered a permanent injury as a result of military service, including amputation, the loss of an organ, or other permanent functional impairment.

The Bronze Medal has an obverse inscription that translates to "Mutilated and Invalids."
