Physical Description and Item Details


A circular medal constructed of silver, the obverse center bears the image of a woman with a sunset, with a lion head to one side, encompassed by a plain border, encompassed by a border of oak and laurel, with gryphons rampant on both sides and topped with a castle, the reverse bears the coat of arms of Spain with a mural crown, with a loop for suspension, on a yellow, white and red striped ribbon.

The Military Medal was established on June 29, 1918. The medal was awarded to those who displayed bravery on the battlefield.
