A circular medal constructed of silver, the obverse bears the image of a seated woman holding a wreath in an outstretched hand, with ships on the sea in the background, encompassed by a wreath of laurel and oak, with two gryphons, an anchor at the top and a scroll at the bottom with the inscription AL MERITO EN CAMPANA, the reverse bears a shield with a castle and a lion rampant in front of two crossed anchors, topped with a royal crown, on a navy, white, red and yellow striped ribbon.
