Physical Description and Item Details


A five-arm Maltese cross with ball finials at the points, with a laurel wreath between the arms, the center bears a circular medallion with a border with the inscription DEFENSA DE MORELLA EN AGOSTO 1838, the reverse bears the inscription POR EL GENERAL CABRERA, with a laurel wreath suspension, on a white and black stripped ribbon.

History


The medal was conferred upon the forces that participated in the defense of Morella. The Second Siege of Morella took place between July 27 and August 17. At the end, Don Carlos named Cabrera Count of Morella.
