History


The El Escorial Conspiracy Cross was authorized in Spain by King Ferdinand VII on December 5, 1814. It was awarded to those who were part of a conspiracy led by Ferdinand VII in 1807, to overthrow King Charles IV, his father.

The Medal features an obverse inscription that translates to "For the King, Award to Innocence."
