The M.N. Expeditionary Cross, 1836 was authorized by the General Courts on July 14, 1836. It was conferred upon members of the National Militia who joined the Army which escorted the Constitutional Government from Madrid to Cádiz in 1823.

The Cross features an obverse inscription that stands to "Isabel II to the National Militia of 1823," and a reverse inscription that stands to "Patriotism and Loyalty."
