History


The Cross for the Battle of Alcañiz was founded in Spain by Ferdinand VII on May 14, 1815. It was conferred upon the members of the Aragon Army under command of Don Joaquin Blake, who defeated French forces, led by Marshal Suchet, in the Battle of Alcañiz on May 23, 1809.

The Medal features a plain reverse.
