History

The Cross for the Battle of Ordal was instituted in Spain by Fernando VII on May 1, 1815. It was conferred upon the Spanish forces led by Don José Torres who fought against French troops in the Battle of Ordal at Catalonia on September 12 and 13, 1813.

The Cross features an obverse inscription that translated to "Battle of Ordal September 13, 1813," and a reverse inscription that translates to "King, Fatherland or Death."
