History

The Cross for Suppression of the Spanish Revolt was authorised by Joseph Bonaparte in Spain circa 1809. It was awarded to his supporters in Madrid who, accused of being loyal to the French Empire, saw their properties burned.

The Officers decoration was awarded with a pink-white ribbon with rosette.

The Cross is also known as The Cross for the Fire of Madrid."

The Cross features an obverse inscription that could be translated to "In the First Three Days of December in 1808," and a reverse inscription that could be translated to "The Fire Controlled by the French Zeal."

There might be versions made out of silver.
