History


The Cross of St. George was instituted by the Supreme Junta of the Kingdom of Spain on January 15, 1810, and it was approved by King Ferdinand VII on March 12, 1815. It was awarded to the members of the Provincial Junta of Cataluña/Catalonia who commanded the resistance of this region against invading Napoleonic troops.

The Cross was approved with a unique class.

The Cross has no motto.
