History

The Cross of the Mallorquina Division was instituted by royal decree of June 27, 1816. It was conferred upon Spanish military personnel that joined the Mallorquina Division between 1810-1814 while they were fighting against Napoleonic forces.

The Gold Cross was awarded to Officers. The Silver Cross was awarded to troops.

The Cross features the letters A.L.D.M upon the arms of the cross which means "To the Division of Majorca," and a reverse inscription that translates to "Valour and Discipline."
