History

The Medal for Cabinet Couriers was authorized by King Ferdinand VII on July 9, 1815. It was conferred upon the members of the Royal Spanish Couriers of the Cabinet, who had been in active service during the War of Independence between 1808-1814.

The Medal features an obverse inscription that translates to "Courage and Constancy for his King and Fatherland," and a reverse inscription that translates to "The Couriers of the Cabinet."
