History


The Medal for Almonacid was instituted in Spain by Royal Decree on May 30, 1816. It was awarded to those individuals of the Spanish Corps who participated in the actions against French forces at Almonacid on August 11, 1809.

The Medal features an obverse inscription that translates to "In Almonacid on August 11, 1809," and it has a plain reverse.
