History


This medal was instituted by Emperor Franz I, and it was conferred upon all Tyrolean men who had mobilized following the call to arms toe defend the realm against France on August 12, 1796.

The medal dies were cut by Johann Wirt.

This medal is also known as the Tyrolean Contingent Medal and the Silver Medal for the Tyrolean Mobilization, 1797.

The Silver Medal was conferred upon Non-Commissioned Officers and enlisted men.
