History

The Order of the Belgian Red Cross is an unofficial Belgian order.

The I Class Decoration is awarded for 25 years of service. A silver bar may also be awarded for each additional 5 years of service, however, a gold bar is awarded in lieu of a third silver bar.

There are two versions of the I Class Decoration which vary in design. The first version has a wreath in between the arms of the cross, while the second version has a wreath that surrounds the entire cross. There are many versions of the silver and gold bar clasps which may vary in composition, size, and engraving.
