History


Established by King Christian VIII, this medal was conferred upon individuals who were connected to the celebrations at the Frederiksborg Castle for King Christian VIII's coronation. This medal was also believed to be used as a recognition medal in relation with the King and Queens travels through Denmark during 1840-1843.

This medal was awarded in a larger size, as well as a smaller size, for both the gold and silver grade. The larger medal was awarded to individuals such as Regional Prefects, individuals part of the municipal departments, and individuals of equal rank. The smaller medal was awarded to individuals such as Priests, parish clerks, teachers or individuals of equal rank.
