History


Established by King Christian VII, this medal was awarded to recognize individuals who participated in the victorious battle of Copenhagen in 1801.

This rim of the medal is engraved with the recipients number and rank.

Individuals who were ranked as Officers and present at battle, were eligible to receive the gold medal. Reserve Officers received this award without a ring, indicating that it was not intended to be worn.
