History

Established by Queen Margrethe II, and known as the most prominent Danish military award, this medal is conferred upon civil and military personnel, who have demonstrated exceptional, selfless, and meritorious acts of service while on duty.

The reverse of the Silver Cross is engraved with the recipient's name and rank.
