History


The Decoration for the National Guard of Bayonne was created in 1815, and was later suppressed on February 10, 1831.

The Decoration was awarded to members of the National Guard in Bayonne for the defense of the town against foreign troops. It can be considered a Decoration of the Lily particular to the town of Bayonne.

The obverse inscription translates to “To the National Guard of Bayonne,” and the reverse inscription translates to “Unsullied.”
