History

The Decoration of Fidelity was created on February 5, 1816 by Louis XVIII, but was later suppressed on February 10, 1831.

It was a specific version of the Decoration of the Lily awarded to the National Guard of Paris.

The obverse inscription translates to “Fidelity, Devotion,” and the reverse inscription translates to “April 12 and May 3, 1814 March 19 and July 8, 1815.”

There are numerous versions of the Silver Decoration. The following variables may be encountered: size; composition; inscription; manufacturer; ribbon clasp; left or right facing portrait.
